At Main Street Veterinary Clinic, we offer a variety of services to care for your pet. If you have any questions or would like more information on how we can care for your pet, please contact us today.
Diagnostics
Our hospital provides a wide variety of in-house diagnostic testing with the most state of the art technology available. It is our goal to provide your pet with the highest level of care possible, and our diagnostic tools help us do that.
Exams and Consultations
Our staff will get a chance to talk to you and see if you are having any trouble with your pet. We will also go over diet, preventative medicine, and exercise to ensure that your pet is as healthy as possible. Then, one of our veterinarians will do a complete physical examination on your pet. It is always good to have a baseline in case your pet ever becomes ill. We also want to monitor your pet’s weight, ensuring that your pet stays a healthy weight. It is much easier to start a diet when a pet is a pound overweight instead of fifteen! Our veterinarian will also look for any potential problems. Our goal is to catch any problems before they become major ones. The sooner that we are able to catch a problem, the easier it is to treat it and the more likely that your pet will make a full recovery!
Laser Therapy
We are proud to offer laser therapy for our patients. Laser procedures allow us to reduce the bleeding and swelling of surgery, making it both safer and less invasive. Laser therapy also reduces pain and recovery time, helping your pet get back to their normal self more quickly. We are dedicated to utilizing the highest standard of veterinary technology, and laser therapy is one of the ways in which we stay on the cutting edge of our field.
Microchipping
Every year, thousands and thousands of pets go missing. Not knowing where your pet is or how to bring them back can be a helpless, hopeless feeling. It’s a tragedy that happens all too often. But there is a simple, safe, and effective way to ensure your pet’s safety and retrieval should they ever become lost. Microchipping is a standard procedure that implants a tiny chip underneath your pet’s fur. It is a painless and relatively fast procedure, and is completely safe. This microchip is registered with your pet’s vital information, and can be scanned by any veterinarian or animal shelter so that they can return your pet directly to you.
Nutritional Counseling
Obesity is a common problem among pets, as it can be easy to over-feed a pet that knows how to beg. But being overweight is a serious problem for animals, and can cause real health problems as they get older. With proper diet and exercise, all pets should be able to meet their dietary needs and be within a healthy weight range.
Pets’ nutritional needs change as they enter different stages of their lives. The best way to make sure your pet’s needs are being met is to consult with us about a diet made specifically for his or her lifestyle.
Pharmacy
We offer a fully stocked pharmacy to fill your pet’s prescription needs. Having an on-site pharmacy provides you with a more convenient way to get your pet’s medication. We hope that this will save you time and ultimately enhance your experience with us.
Preventative Medicine
Regular checkups allow us to establish a baseline in your pet’s health and make us aware of any changes that may indicate future problems. We highly recommend bringing your pet in for regular exams. Often times health problems that go undetected can become more serious issues when left untreated, so checkups are important even when your pet appears healthy.
Surgery
We believe in utilizing the highest level of medical technology, and our surgeons are experienced and highly trained. We also realize that it can be stressful to have your pet undergo surgery. We want to assure you that your pet is in good hands, and that we will do everything to provide the best care possible. We will communicate with you about the things you need to know before, during, and after your pet’s surgery. It is our goal to make the entire process go smoothly, and to eliminate the stress and worry of surgical procedures.
Laser Surgery
Laser surgery uses a beam of a certain wavelength of light to cut tissue instead of using a scalpel blade. Because our surgeons are highly skilled, they can control the amount of light used, which gives them extreme surgical precision. There is less pain because the laser seals the nerve endings as it cuts, decreasing the pain impulses. By performing laser surgery, we are able to remove some tumors with just local anesthesia instead of having to use general anesthesia. Our surgeons are highly skilled at laser surgery, offering only the most up-to-date procedures for our patients. It is our goal to ensure that our patients thrive after surgery with minimal postoperative complications.
Stem Cell
Stem cells have been proven to help animals suffering from a variety of conditions like arthritis and tendon or joint issues. This procedure is a regenerative process that allows your pet to better cope with their changing bodies. Stem cells hold immense promise for medical treatment because they can take on the traits of all kinds of cells and then replicate many times over.
The regenerative cells that are collected do several things: they release chemicals that help decrease inflammation; they send out chemicals to the body to bring healing cells into that area; and they have the potential to regenerate damaged tissue.

There are a variety of diseases which affect our pets and other animals. This makes proper vaccination vital in protecting them from the many types of illnesses they are susceptible to. Dental Care
Dental care is vital to the overall health of any pet. Dental disease can lead to health issues with the heart, liver, and kidneys, and can affect the entire body through the bloodstream. In fact, 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats over three years of age suffer from some form of dental disease, making it the most common pet health issue among our pet population. In spite of these disturbing facts, many pet owners are not aware of the importance of dental care to their pets’ health. There are a lot of different ways to improve your pets’ dental hygiene, including home brushing, dental chews, and regular inspection. The most effective way to protect your pet from dental disease is through professional cleanings. We perform thorough cleanings here at Main Street Veterinary Clinic, including the area beneath the gums that you can’t see or access at home.

House Calls
We understand that it is not always possible to bring your pet to our clinic. That is why we offer house calls and see animals in your own home. There are many challenges in caring for an animal that cannot be moved from their location for one reason or another. Please let us know of any specific requests or conditions that will require special attention. We promise to communicate with you throughout the process to make sure it goes smoothly for you and your animal. We recommend to give us as much notice as possible.
Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine is a field of study that is specific to an animal’s inner body systems. We look at the function of various areas of your pets’ inside parts through non-invasive means, giving our doctors a clearer picture of your pet’s’ health.
Pain Management
We have many different choices when it comes to treating a pet’s’ pain. There are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs which are very helpful with mild pain. We also prescribe steroids which can offer a lot of relief. We also have stronger pain medications if the non-steroidal medications are not enough. We also offer glucosamine in tablets and injections to help with arthritis. It is important to run blood work before starting any medications to make sure your pets can handle it. Pets on some medications need to be monitored by doing regular blood work to ensure there are no bad side effects.
Radiology
At Main Street Veterinary Clinic, we are proud to be on the cutting edge of medical technology. Radiology is a technique and diagnostic tool that we use to look inside the body in an entirely non-invasive way. X-rays allow us to create images of all the body’s organs. In other words, the use of radiology gives us a view of the internal organs in your pets’ body that we otherwise could not see. It is a valuable diagnostic tool that helps veterinarians detect and prevent illness. The use of radiology is safe, and our entire staff is highly trained. It is our goal to provide your pet with the highest level of medical care possible, and this is just one of the many ways we achieve that.

Here at Main Street Veterinary Clinic, we are proud to offer ultrasonography for our patients. It is our goal to offer our patients the very best care that veterinary medicine has to offer. We only use state-of-the-art equipment so we can diagnose and treat your pet as quickly as possible. Because of this, we offer ultrasounds as a way to quickly and efficiently diagnose your pet. Ultrasounds are quick and painless. They are usually better than radiographs because the machine does not give off any harmful radiation. Ultrasounds use sound waves to look inside your pet, allowing us to diagnose him or her. The images are better than radiographs and there are several conditions that can only be diagnosed with an ultrasound.

These wellness exams give us a chance to evaluate the overall health of your pet while also giving us a baseline for their unique bodies and tendencies. Technician Visits
Beginning August 2023, we will be making at home appointments for technician type appointments. We will schedule a veterinary technician to come to your house and administer certain types of injections (allergy, proheart, arthritis) to save you from bringing your beloved pet into the clinic. At home comfort. Other services may be available upon request such as nail trims or anal gland expression. We could also deliver food and/or medications.
Solensia (for cats), Cytopoint, ProHeart (heartworm) and soon to come Librela (for dogs once available)
This service will be offered by scheduled appointments monthly to help with convenience. There will be an additional fee added to these services. Depending on the location will determine the additional fee (Lumberton/Beaumont/Kountze/Silsbee). The fee will start at $25 and up in addition to the service requested. Again, this is not a veterinarian (doctor) appointment yet only a technician visit.
If interested, please contact the clinic for dates available to schedule an appointment and get more informed details. These services will need to be ‘paid in advance’ due to the fact that we won’t have credit card equipment or change for cash available for these appointments.
